CFL Color Temperature
With a color temperature of 6,700K the compact fluorescent is referred to as white. An even cooler color temperature, 7,100K is referred to as blue and simulates deeper water.
Compact Fluorescent Wattage
CFL aquarium bulbs are very efficient. With power ratings ranging of 28 watts, 55 watts, or 96 watts the light produced by the CFL is many times the light generated by incandescent light bulbs using more electricity. The compact fluorescent aquarium light does not generate the heat of incandescent lighting.
